1. Who we are

bestpompeiitours.com ("we", "this site") is an independent affiliate guide reviewing Pompeii guided tours sold through GetYourGuide. We do not take bookings, payments, or any personal data from visitors directly on this site. For any privacy question, contact hello@bestpompeiitours.com.

2. What we collect

This site does not run user accounts, forms, comments, or newsletter signups. We do not set first-party tracking cookies, run remarketing pixels, or maintain a customer database. The only data that touches our infrastructure is the technical request information your browser sends when loading the page (described in §3).

3. Server logs

Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically records standard web-server access logs for security and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs typically contain: IP address, request timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status code, user-agent string, and referrer. Logs are retained for up to 30 days and used only to diagnose technical issues or block abusive traffic. They are not used for marketing, profiling, or shared with third parties.

4. Third-party widgets and cookies (GetYourGuide)

We embed the GetYourGuide availability widget on the featured tour section. When this widget loads, GetYourGuide may set its own cookies in your browser to track availability search interactions, attribute booking referrals to our affiliate ID, and load the booking interface. These cookies are controlled by GetYourGuide, not by us. Refer to GetYourGuide's privacy policy for full details on what they collect, how long it is retained, and how to opt out.

We also load Google Fonts (Manrope + Inter). Google may log the IP address of your browser when the font files are fetched. To avoid this, you can disable web fonts in your browser settings — the page will fall back to your system's default fonts.

5. Affiliate analytics

When you click through to GetYourGuide via any link on this site, our partner ID is included in the URL so GetYourGuide can attribute any resulting booking to us as the referrer. GetYourGuide reports aggregate, anonymised performance data to us (click counts, booking counts, commission earned) — no personally identifiable visitor data is shared.

6. Your GDPR / CCPA rights

If you are in the EU/UK, you have the right under the GDPR to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. Because we do not maintain a user database (see §2), the data we would have on file for any given visitor is limited to short-retention server logs (see §3). California residents have analogous rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@bestpompeiitours.com with the request and a way to verify your identity.
