1. Editorial independence

bestpompeiitours.com is an independent affiliate guide. We are not owned by, employed by, or contracted to GetYourGuide, Grand Tour Experience, or any tour operator featured on this site. Our editorial selections — which tour is featured, which categories are surfaced in the alternates grid, which traveller reviews are quoted — are made by the editors based on rating, review count, route content, operator credentials, and traveller-described pace.

2. How affiliate links work

Most outbound links on this site to GetYourGuide are affiliate links. They look like a normal link in the page, but they carry an attribution identifier (our partner ID) in the URL. When you click an affiliate link and complete a booking on GetYourGuide, GetYourGuide pays us a commission on the booking. You pay the same price you would pay if you went to GetYourGuide directly — affiliate commission is funded out of GetYourGuide's marketing budget, not added to your ticket.

To make affiliate links easy to identify, every outbound booking link on this site uses the standard rel="nofollow sponsored noopener" attribute that browsers and search engines recognise as a paid relationship.

3. Our GetYourGuide partnership

Our partner ID is referenced in the booking links and the embedded availability widget on the featured tour section. We do not have a special commercial relationship with any individual operator — the commission rate we earn on a Pompeii Exclusive Archaeologist Tour booking is the same as the commission rate we'd earn on any other Pompeii booking made via the same click.

4. Pricing transparency

The prices shown on this page are the public per-person prices that GetYourGuide displays at the time of writing — typically before tax, before child discounts, and at the cheapest available time slot. They are subject to change without notice. The final price at checkout is what GetYourGuide shows you at the time of booking and is the binding figure. We do not mark prices up or down and we do not negotiate discounts.

5. Editorial standards

We use real review data from GetYourGuide's public-facing API, not paraphrased or synthetic reviews. Traveller quotes are reproduced verbatim with the reviewer's first name, country, and month of review as shown on GetYourGuide. Ratings and review counts are displayed rounded up to the nearest hundred (with a "+" suffix) in editorial copy — the precise numbers, when relevant, appear in the structured-data layer used by search engines.

6. How we choose featured tours

The "featured" tour is selected by combining: minimum 4.7-star rating, minimum 200 reviews, House-of-the-Vettii inclusion on the route, archaeologist or licensed park guide as the lead, skip-the-line entry tickets bundled, and free cancellation 24 hours before. The alternate categories surface the highest-rated tour in each of three secondary buckets (best value, depth/Pompeii Plus, fully private) plus a broader marketplace link. We re-evaluate quarterly.
